Soup Kitchen Wednesdays

On Tuesday, February 19th I approached my bosses at the Dundas Community Centre to get approval to hold the soup kitchens at DCC on Wednesdays. Both of them were very supportive. We had previously discussed holding lunches and dinners for the seniors so those who weren’t feeding themselves properly would get a good meal. My co-worker, Nonni and I have already implemented having a dinner every few months. Holding the Soup Kitchen on Wednesdays allows us to entice the seniors who are already coming out for bridge/bingo/euchre which starts at 1:30 pm.

Starting Wednesday, February 27th the Soup Kitchen will be held in the Community Room at DCC being open to the homeless/under poverty level as well as anyone who would like to purchase a bowl of soup and a bun for $2! Monetary and soup donations will always be appreciated! I hope that this new idea will serve three purposes: feeding the homeless/under poverty level, giving the seniors a good lunch, and raising money for future soup kitchens and homeless programs!
