March Break "Soup's On!" and Tragedy

I was relieved of many duties today! Chrissy and three of her youth from her youth group came out to help at Soup's On!, which was a blessing. Thank you to all of you! I only needed to make one extra soup because I was able to freeze the soups from the previous week!

We had 23 soups bought and 6 under poverty level people out. $48.50 was made - $2.50 in donations. The four soups were: Tomato Rice, Chicken Noodle, Cauliflour with Celery and Garlic.

In addition to making sure everything was set up (thank you, Renzo, for your help!) and running smoothly, I was also trying to assist a lady who's house burnt down on Tuesday morning. Her, her partner and her three children made it out safely with the clothes on their backs. I was able to start them with some clothing and coats for two of them. I have been donated some furniture and other household items that I will be picking up for them once they have their "government" housing on April 1st.

Today, Saturday, March 15th, I am going to find them more clothing if they need it. I have several bags of clothing here which I will be sorting out, as well as dealing with registration for the Spring Session of my dance classes. Anyone have some free time to do some sorting? ;)
